22nd – 26th October 2018
Maximum of 4
Join me for 5 exciting days of photography on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula where we will be based right at the foot of Kirkjufell Mountain which is probably the most iconic location in the whole of Iceland, a perfect location for photographing the aurora at night!
The Snaefellsnes Peninsula is often described as being “Iceland in Miniature” due to the diversity in it’s landscape from the waterfalls, lava fields, the crashing coastline, black sand beaches, the Icelandic Horses and even glaciers!
This Iceland Photography Tour has been planned with the photographer right in the center, we’ll go where the light is at it’s best or getting you to where we’ll have clear skies to watch and photography the Aurora Borealis.
As with all my photo tours & workshops I like to keep the numbers small, and this photo tour is limited to only four people! This allows me to spend more one on one time with you, helping you with any questions you may have.
During downtime or bad weather I’ll be sharing my processing techniques using both Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop so if you have a Laptop feel free to bring it along.
|GROUP SIZE||Minimum of two, maximum of four.|
|SKILL LEVEL||From Amateurs to Professionals.|
No hotels for this one, we’ll be staying in a 4 bedroom house together for the week. This allows us to have our own dedicated workspace in case the weather doesn’t go our way, we’ll go over post processing, reviewing images, home cooking our meals, no packing/unpacking our luggage every single day, cold beers in the evening and generally getting to know each other over the 5 days.
Our cottage is located just on the outskirts of Grundarfjordur on the lakeside with a lovely sunset terrace with views of Kirkjufell Mountain!
Free WiFi access is available at this property.
The house has four bedrooms that can sleep up to eight people, so with only 5 of us there will be plenty of room. The house has free wifi, one bathroom and shower, a TV, a fully equipped kitchen, decking area and there is also a hot tub located on site.
If you would like a room on your own, there is an additional fee of £150 for the 5 days. There is 3 single rooms available.
The tour does not have a fixed itinerary as I like to remain flexible based on weather conditions at the time.
Stykkishólmur Fishing Village

This workshop is aimed at photographers who want to improve and take their landscape photography to the next level. You will learn how I plan my sunrise & sunset shoots, how to focus for maximum DOF, you’ll learn more about composition, rule of thirds, leading lines, how & when to use filters, long exposure photography. During the night you will learn how to focus in the darkness, how to shoot really long exposures, how to create star trails and how to shoot the majestic northern lights!
This is not a sight seeing tour or a beginner’s photography course where you learn the basics of Photography such as aperture, shutter speed and ISO. You MUST already understand the exposure triangle, how it works and how each of the settings affect each other. This is not a luxury holiday where we spend time relaxing by the pool and topping up our tan.
This is a photography workshop intended for like minded people who share a passion for shooting landscapes, both the classic spots but also the not so classic spots. We’ll spend a week living together, eating together, shooting together, sharing our stories, sharing our passion for photography. This will be an intense trip, we’ll be shooting when the light is at it’s best and that’s during sunrise & sunset, we’ll be shooting in all conditions from rain, hail and snow to those rare blue skies. We’ll sleep when we can, when the light is at it’s worst.
I can guarantee you by the end of the week, you’ll be going home with new friends, great images but you’ll also be ready for a good sleep 😉
